CMA New York: Wee Arts

The Children’s Museum of the Arts New York or better known as CMA New York offers an awesome drop-in class for children ages 0-5 called Wee Arts. I’ve been taking my daughter to the class for about a year now and she loves it. Whether you live in New York or are planning a visit, this class offers little ones the chance to paint, paper/object mache, play with blocks, play-doh, and magnetic shapes, and draw with chalk, markers, stamps, etc. Aside from the last 25 minutes reserved for music and story time {one of the best music classes in NYC} the hour and 15 minute class is a bit of a free for all – the kids can choose any activity and dive right in.

Art is serious business

The Wee Art class at CMA is designed for little ones to explore their artistic interests, get messy and probably eat some glue. My favorite part of the class – no clean up! My daughter is usually covered in paint and I can simply wash her hands and walk away! As my friend noted it takes twice as long to set up {and clean up} an activity that usually lasts for 15 minutes.
