Before my husband and I moved to the family-friendly New York City neighborhood of Battery Park City, we lived on the Lower East Side of Manhattan (borough of NYC). To say these two neighborhoods are complete opposites would be putting it mildly. The Lower East Side is trendy, fashionable, a little grungy and well, Battery Park is quiet! My husband has dubbed our current neighborhood the “suburbs” of Manhattan, which might be a stretch, but we love it nonetheless. We were treated to lovely weather over the weekend and decided to take a stroll down memory lane with the baby. What’s the point of living in New York City if you don’t get out and absorb the culture a little?
I LOVE these photos. Reminds me a bit of Philly. And really, do you need 10 reasons to eat a cupcake? I usually only need one! 😉 Thanks for linking up to #FridayPostcards!
Thanks! Best cupcakes on the planet and no, you never need a reason to eat a cupcake! I will need to keep traveling to link up to #FridayPostcards!
I’ve heard of the Lower East Side but had no idea what it looks like. Those brightly colored, murals are so eye catching. I’d definitely stop for cupcakes. That To Do list made me laugh, and yes, it’s not every day that you see a sailboat suspended from the side of a building.
