Christmas Eve Traditions for Kids {Two Free Printables}

When I was a kid, receiving an early gift on Christmas Eve was so exciting. I vividly remember exchanging one gift the night before Christmas and over the years it turned into a family tradition. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I wanted to capture the fun and excitement of the early gift exchange by starting a new tradition for her. She is just shy of two and a little oblivious to the concept of Christmas, tree decorating, and gift giving, but it’s never to early to start in my opinion!

There are several Christmas Eve traditions for kids that I love, but I am starting with an oldie: new pajamas, Holiday movie, and a sweet treat! Long before the days of Pinterest, families have been gifting new pajamas and settling in to watch a favorite movie while munching on some popcorn.

I haven’t yet introduced popcorn to my little one, so I came up with a sweet {semi healthy} trail mix that I hope she loves. The “Elf Treat” mix includes:

Mini marshmallows
All-natural peanut butter chips
Annie’s Homegrown Honey Bunnies
Earth’s Best Honey Sticks

I combined about a handful of each to fill a small mason jar {approx. 4 inches tall}. I created a cute “Elf Treat” tag for the mason jar, which you can download for free {10 tags per sheet}!

Additionally, you can download the tag I created for the extra special Christmas Eve gift exchange {8 tags per sheet}!

No matter the traditions you start with your family, all you really need is a lot of love and a bit of Christmas magic! I hope you are able to use and enjoy the tags – for personal use only – thank you!

Looking for additional holiday tags? Look no further – these tags are also free to download!

What are your favorite family holiday traditions?

    Oh wow! This is so cute! I love it. I don’t have kids but I am so keen on starting Christmas traditions with my boyfriend… so I might just transfer this to him, haha 🙂
